Football Recap: Shaw Drops Season-High Score on South Delta

Shaw had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it five. They fell 30-22 to the South Delta Bulldogs. On the bright side, the 22- point effort marked the Warriors' highest-scoring matchup to date.

As for South Delta, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games.

Vernon Sampson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 83 yards and two TDs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shaw will welcome West Bolivar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Delta, they will take on Simmons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 6.5 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
