Baseball Recap: Magee Comes Up Short

Magee extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-7. They fell 5-0 to the Seminary Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Magee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braelyn Hall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Seminary, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.

On Seminary's side, they gave Levi Kirkley the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Kirkley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. Parker Martin relieved him and did a solid job, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tucker Hux, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Brady Chancelor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

While Magee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
