Volleyball Recap: Providence Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Silverdale Academy Seahawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Providence Academy of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Silverdale Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.

Silverdale Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Creekmore, who had nine digs and one assist. That's the most digs Creekmore has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Emily Givens, who had three digs and three aces.

Providence Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Silverdale Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Providence Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Silverdale Academy, they will square off against Concord Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
