Soccer Game Preview: Easley vs. Mauldin + Official Tickets

The Easley Green Wave will face off against the Mauldin Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mauldin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Easley, who comes in off a win.

Mauldin better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Easley's game on Wednesday is any indication, that's when Easley really gets things going. The Green Wave never let Greenville H get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering Easley have won five matches by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Mauldin unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Greenwood who was credited with the win. The Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Mauldin's four. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mauldin came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Greenwood are ranked 48th).

Mauldin's goal came courtesy of Kyle Monte, who's now up to 11 this season.

Easley pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. As for Mauldin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Easley came out on top in a nail-biter against Mauldin in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Green Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
