Volleyball Recap: Hugoton Takes a Loss

Hugoton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cimarron Bluejays. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bluejays from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Hugoton ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20.

Leading Cimarron to victory were Kynlee Frink and Mara Mccann. Frink had 15 digs, while Mccann had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Mccann a new career-high. Jaylee Schilling also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Hugoton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Cimarron, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Hugoton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Elkhart on the 13th. As for Cimarron, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Pratt on the 13th.
