Basketball Recap: Conrad Cowboys vs. Fairfield Eagles

Conrad lost against Fairfield back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Conrad Cowboys came up short against the Fairfield Eagles, falling 66-42. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Eagles are ranked sixth).

Fairfield was led to victory by Deron Lear and J. Porter Hatch. Lear on his way to 21 points and five rebounds, while Hatch en route to 18 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Hatch a new career-high in points. Israel Perez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Conrad's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Fairfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-1.

Conrad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fairfield will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Glasgow at 2:30 p.m. on March 6th.
