Preview: LaSalle Tigers vs. Monterey Wolves
LaSalle is 0-10 against Monterey since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The LaSalle Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Monterey Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully LaSalle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
LaSalle couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 63-52 to Ouachita Christian. LaSalle has struggled against Ouachita Christian recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, LaSalle saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Noah Parham, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Sean Derr was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Monterey blew past Sicily Island, posting a 74-25 win on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Monterey.
LaSalle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Monterey, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
LaSalle suffered a grim 58-36 defeat to Monterey when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can LaSalle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
