Softball Recap: Callaway Comes Up Short

Callaway was the 8-7 winner over Provine when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Michelle Bailey was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in six of her nine plate appearances with three stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Madison Goodin, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one double.

Callaway now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Provine, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Callaway will head out to challenge Jim Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Provine, they will be playing at home against Vicksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.71 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
