West Wendover waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Pershing County Mustangs with a sharp 15-5 win. Considering the Wolverines have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aidien Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, West Wendover let Abraham Salazar and Danny Soriano run wild. Salazar went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Soriano scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most hits Salazar has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tavian Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

West Wendover's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Pershing County, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

West Wendover will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pershing County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
