Softball Game Preview: Miller Buccaneers vs. Ray Texans

The Miller Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Ray Texans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miller has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.

Things were looking good for Miller after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 17-1 to Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial.

Miller saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Campos, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Campos has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ray's offense. They came up short against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on Friday, falling 24-0. The loss continues a trend for the Texans in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Ray, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miller hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Ray struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Miller took their win against Ray when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 12-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Miller since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
