Baseball Recap: Ida Takes a Loss

Ida dropped their record down to 7-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 11-2 to the Madison Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bluestreaks have suffered since April 13, 2024.

As for Madison, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Madison's part, Cameron Barber made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Barber has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Norman Frederick, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Brian Dopp was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.
