Softball Recap: Mcqueen Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but McQueen had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Carson Senators. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Senators two weeks ago, they had to take a 10-5 loss.

Violet Moyao made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Moyao was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Vanessa Bein was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ashlyn Guber was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

McQueen is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Carson, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-18-1.

Looking ahead, McQueen will challenge Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. Carson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
