Basketball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

Augusta lost against Blair-Taylor back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Augusta Beavers were outmatched by the Blair-Taylor Wildcats and fell 90-53. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 193rd).

Augusta's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Blair-Taylor, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Augusta will head out to challenge Whitehall at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Augusta is facing Whitehall at the right time seeing as Whitehall is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Blair-Taylor, they will face off against Osseo-Fairchild at 7:15 p.m. on February 27th.
