Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Central Timberwolves vs. Union Academy Cardinals

The Montgomery Central Timberwolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Union Academy Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Montgomery Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Wheatmore on Thursday. They were dealt a 48-13 defeat at the hands of the Warriors. The Timberwolves were down 36-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Union Academy lost to South Rowan on the road by a 53-39 margin on Friday.

Union Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Montgomery Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Montgomery Central suffered a grim 58-32 defeat to Union Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
