Opelousas came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 50-44 W over the Livonia Wildcats. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Wildcats are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Opelousas has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Livonia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Opelousas will venture away from home to challenge St. Edmund at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Livonia, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Livonia Wildcats challenge the East Feliciana Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
