Recap: Aiken Fighting Green Hornets vs. Airport Eagles
The Aiken Fighting Green Hornets won the last time they faced the Airport Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Aiken came out on top against Airport by a score of 51-38.
It was another big night for Malasia Jamison, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Norriyah Bradley was another key contributor, scoring a point along with 16 rebounds and eight assists.
Despite the loss, Airport had strong showings from Ja'sia Booth, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Santana Reese, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Reese is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keyosha Hammond, who scored three points along with five assists and two steals.
Aiken has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Airport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
Aiken will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Augusta at 6:00 p.m. North Augusta will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Airport, they will head out on the road to challenge Midland Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Midland Valley is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
