Soccer Recap: Rhea County Takes a Loss

Rhea County lost against Cleveland back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Blue Raiders who were credited with the win. The Cleveland Blue Raiders got it done in the shootout by posting 11 goals to the Rhea County Golden Eagles' ten. While losing is never fun, Rhea County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Cleveland are ranked 42nd).

Steven Henriquez Salgado and Jackson Arnold scored both of Rhea County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Rhea County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Cleveland, they pushed their record up to 11-3-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Rhea County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cleveland, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Walker Valley on the 9th.
