Basketball Recap: Zarriyah Carter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tarrant over Cordova

Tarrant lost against Cordova two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tarrant Wildcats received a blow as they fell 50-31 to the Cordova Blue Devils.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zarriyah Carter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. Carter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 17 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Victoria Fuller, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Tarrant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 23 consecutive games.

Tarrant has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Cordova, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-10.

Tarrant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-20 loss against Fultondale on the 21st. Cordova has also already played their next game, a 41-34 defeat against Dora on the 18th.
