Basketball Recap: Cosby Takes a Loss

Cosby suffered their biggest defeat since December 10, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 65-37 loss at the hands of the Heritage Mountaineers. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Eli Williams was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-20 en route to 31 points and six rebounds for Heritage. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of the Mountaineers' points. Rhett Hall was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cosby fell to 2-1. As for Heritage, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Cosby and Heritage will both be playing Tri-Cities Christian the next time they take the court. The Mountaineers will head out to face the Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
