Baseball Game Preview: West Salem Titans vs. Lincoln Cardinals

The West Salem Titans will take on the Lincoln Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for West Salem: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Lincoln has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, West Salem turned things around against South Medford on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-1.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lincoln ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Cleveland 3-2.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for West Salem, their win bumped their record up to 9-16.

West Salem suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Lincoln in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
