Volleyball Recap: West Caldwell Tech Takes Down Hoboken in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and West Caldwell Tech had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Hoboken Redwings by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won six contests in a row.

West Caldwell Tech easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-20.

John Jimenez had a dynamite game, getting 16 digs and three assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times he's played. Julian Olaverri also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

West Caldwell Tech pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. As for Hoboken, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-9.

Looking ahead, West Caldwell Tech will head out to challenge Harrison at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Tide will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Hoboken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
