Football Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Lions vs. Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars
It's playoff time, and Trinity Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars 49-0. Considering the Lions have won eight games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Owen Atwood, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 111 yards and one TD while completing 81.8% of his passes. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 72 yards. Gabe Lee did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.
Trinity Christian Academy didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Middle Tennessee Christian to a completion percentage of just 47.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from five players: Lee, Cameron Hardin, Greg Carter, Reed Williamson, and Lake Helton, who each logged one passes deflected.
