The West Washington Senators will square off against the Austin Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Washington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, West Washington turned things around against Orleans on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The Senators not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 16-3).
Nash Ables and Hayden Morrow made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Ables pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Morrow didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Ables has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Ables got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, while Morrow went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Rosenbaum, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten games. The team also got some help courtesy of Iziah Dennis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Scottsburg hit Austin with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Warriors and Warriorettes, falling 9-3. The Eagles have struggled against the Warriors and Warriorettes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for West Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
West Washington was able to grind out a solid win over Austin in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 5-2. Do the Senators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
