Basketball Recap: Kirtland Central Takes a Loss

Kirtland Central was the 45-36 winner over Bloomfield when they last played one another on February 4th, but their luck changed this time around. The Kirtland Central Broncos lost 66-45 to the Bloomfield Bobcats on Friday. The Broncos just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Bloomfield was led to victory by Xavier Abernathy and Kaydin Nelson. Abernathy went 6-for-13 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, while Nelson went 8-for-11 en route to 18 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Nelson a new career-high in assists (three). Paxton Morris was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Kirtland Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.

Looking ahead, Kirtland Central will take on Aztec at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bloomfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
