Softball Recap: Malone Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Malone can now relate to. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sneads Pirates on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Jordin Josey and C Garrett stepped up to the plate in a big way. Josey went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, while Garrett went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Josey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Indya Barnes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Malone's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Sneads, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.

Malone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sneads, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-1 defeat against Cottondale on the 1st.
