Permian wins going away against Midland Legacy

The Permian Panthers entered their tilt with the Midland Legacy Rebels with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Permian strolled past Midland Legacy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 78-63. Given Permian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Midland Legacy is ranked 489th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Midland Legacy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Brazzell. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points. That's the first time this season that Brazzell scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Vera, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

Permian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Midland Legacy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.

Permian will head out on the road to face off against Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Midland Legacy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Frenship at 7:30 p.m. Frenship has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
