Weequahic extended the longest winning streak in Super Essex - Colonial this week by beating Cedar Grove, 55-20. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Indians.

Weequahic took down the Panthers 55-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alkadair Ports ran for 146 yards during the win.

Joe Slattery put up the best numbers in passing as Cedar Grove fell to Brian Johnson-Logan's team. He finished with 9 completions for 165 yards and 1 touchdown. Slattery's favorite target this week was Paul Rufo, who caught 2 passes for 73 yards.

Ed sadloch's team's Slattery and Rufo led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Slattery has thrown for 2,012 yards this season, while Rufo has 39 catches for 865 yards. Ports from the Indians leads the league in rushing with 834 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Shabazz takes on Glen Ridge. The Bulldogs are currently in third, while the Ridgers are in fifth.

Weequahic made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,696 from 2,372. The improvement was largely due to a 55-20 victory over the Panthers last week.
