York is 8-2 against Wells since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. York will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
York is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Fryeburg, who was ranked seventh at the time (York was ranked second). The Wildcats walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Raiders on Friday.

Jack Joyce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Robbie Hanscom was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Conor Fell, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases.
Wells had taken Yarmouth down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Warriors fell just short of the Clippers by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Clippers since May 25, 2022.
Jackson Pollard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Wells now has a losing record of 1-2. As for York, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Wells' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: York hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Wells, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain York's hitters?
