Basketball Recap: Golden City's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Golden City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 74-48 margin over the Everton Tigers on Thursday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 52.7 points per game.

Golden City was led to victory by Spencer Parrill and Caleb Hughes. Parrill posted 25 points, while Hughes earned 21 points. The match was Parrill's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Maneval, who put up 11 points.

Despite the loss, Everton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joshua Daniels dropped a double-double on 31 points and 17 boards. Daniels also set a new season-high mark in steals with five.

Golden City's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Everton, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
