Baseball Recap: Joaquin Extends Winning Streak to Five

Joaquin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Alto Yellowjackets by a score of 6-1. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.

T.J. Hawkins was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hawkins was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Joaquin let Karson Rogers and Kaden Miller run wild. Rogers went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Miller scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Carter Graves also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Joaquin's record now sits at 5-2. As for Alto, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Joaquin will face off against Lovelady at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alto, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Centerville at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
