Baseball Recap: Orangeburg Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Orangeburg Prep extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 7-5. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals. Ten seems to be a good number for the Indians as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Cam Jolley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marshall Livingston, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cholly Williams, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked their highest-scoring game to date.

On Thomas Sumter Academy's side, Carter Hill made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Joseph Andrade was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Orangeburg Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. John's Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on April 21. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Carolina Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
