Basketball Game Preview: North Stanly Comets vs. Maiden Blue Devils

The North Stanly Comets are taking a road trip to face off against the Maiden Blue Devils at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. North Stanly will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

North Stanly is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bradford Prep: they outscored them in every quarter. The Comets enjoyed a cozy 48-31 win over the Bears on Wednesday. 48 seems to be a good number for the Comets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

North Stanly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexie Brown out in front who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Sammie Lowder, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Maiden was fully in charge last Monday, breezing past Piedmont Community Charter 93-21. The Blue Devils pushed the score to 89-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

North Stanly better keep an eye on Ava Anderson. She was instrumental in Maiden's win, going 9-for-14 on her way to 26 points along with five assists and five steals. Raegan Rembert was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 11 points and three steals.

Maiden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

North Stanly's record now sits at 5-0. As for Maiden, their record is now 2-0.
