Softball Recap: Red Wing Gets the Win

Red Wing's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Faribault Falcons by a score of 6-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Stella Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Camryn Zotalis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Molly Jacobson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Red Wing lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Red Wing's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Faribault, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Wing will face off against Austin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Faribault, they will square off against Winona at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
