Softball Recap: Rappahannock Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

While Rappahannock put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Lancaster. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Red Devils. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Avery Brann's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kahler Goodman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Withers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Rappahannock hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in five consecutive games.

Rappahannock's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Lancaster, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Rappahannock will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
