Baseball Game Preview: Wakulla Christian School Saints vs. Brookwood Warriors

The Wakulla Christian School Saints will head out on the road to square off against the Brookwood Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wakulla Christian School has three straight victories, Brookwood has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Wakulla Christian School's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over Munroe. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Saints this season.

Blaise Foulks made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Wakulla Christian School let Kory Paynter and Jackson Lawhon run wild. Paynter got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Lawhon scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Lawhon has posted since back in February of 2024. Trevor Andrews also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wakulla Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Brookwood came up short against Aucilla Christian on Tuesday, falling 12-1.

Wakulla Christian School now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Brookwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Wakulla Christian School was able to grind out a solid win over Brookwood when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. Will Wakulla Christian School repeat their success, or does Brookwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
