Cheshire Academy scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 16-5 margin over the Pomfret School Griffins. Cheshire Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by six runs or more this season.
Jeffery Krauss looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Jayden Novak was incredible, going 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Chase Mendela was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
On Pomfret School's side, Gavin Flynn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt McClure, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
The win (which was Cheshire Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. As for Pomfret School, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
