Softball Game Preview: Harrisburg Hornets vs. Cross County Thunderbirds

The Harrisburg Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Cross County Thunderbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Harrisburg came up short against Palestine-Wheatley and fell 6-3.

Sofie Mooney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Cross County suffered their closest loss since April 8, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Pocahontas by a score of 4-2.

Cross County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Harrisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Harrisburg suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Cross County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Harrisburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
