Miramonte is a perfect 4-0 against Alameda since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Matadors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, Miramonte wound up with the same score they had in their last game (25-22), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Cougars are ranked 131st).

Despite the loss, Miramonte had strong showings from Lane Dalton, who threw for 248 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Andrew Bjornson, who picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. David Roman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Alameda never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Encinal 39-0. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Jets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Alameda's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Miramonte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Miramonte against Alameda when the teams last played back in November of 2018, as the team secured a 48-21 win. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
