Volleyball Recap: Laughlin Comes Up Short

If Laughlin was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Beaver Dam on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Needles Mustangs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.

Laughlin might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Needles: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22.

Laughlin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Needles, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Laughlin will face off against Sandy Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Needles, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Meadows School at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
