Plano West has gone 8-2 against Allen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wolves will head out to challenge the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Plano West will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Plano West took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past McKinney 14-4. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.
The team relied heavily on Isabella Dunn, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Nell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Plano West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKinney only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Allen never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Princeton with a sharp 17-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Morgan Wright was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Addie King was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Rebecca Liu, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Plano West's record is now 14-8. As for Allen, the win got them back to even at 13-13-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Plano West hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Allen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Plano West came out on top in a nail-biter against Allen in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
