After losing to Clark the last time they met, Westlake decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Chaparrals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cougars on Friday.

Chloe Kelly paced Westlake's offense, picking up 13 kills. Kelly got some help from Kyrksen Cook and her 25 assists. Cook was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Clark had strong showings from Rachel Hirsch, who had 14 assists and four digs, and Seren Gomez, who had ten digs.

Westlake is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Clark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Westlake has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Lake Travis on the 22nd. As for Clark, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Canyon on the 22nd.
