Football Recap: San Marcos Rattlers vs. Canyon Cougars
San Marcos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Canyon Cougars, falling 52-7. The Rattlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reece Deitrick, who threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Regan was another key rusher, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
San Marcos' record is now 0-11. As for Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
