Recap: Cayuga Wildcats vs. Tolar Rattlers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cayuga Wildcats can now relate to. They were dealt a 60-0 defeat at the hands of Tolar on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Cayuga can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 728th, while Tolar is ranked 224th).
Tolar was led to victory by Isaac Blessing and Garrison Nation. Blessing threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, while Nation rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Nation really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Braylen Rice got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Cayuga's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Tolar, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Cayuga does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tolar will square off against Italy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Italy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
