Baseball Recap: Litchfield Dragons vs. Dassel-Cokato Chargers
Litchfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dassel-Cokato Chargers. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Gideon Boerema was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Anthony Estrada made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ben Olson, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Litchfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dassel-Cokato, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Litchfield will challenge Glencoe-Silver Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dassel-Cokato, they will square off against Delano at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
