Recap: St. John XXIII Lions vs. Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles
The St. John XXIII Lions were the 46-33 winner over the Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. St. John XXIII fell 45-35 to Fort Bend Christian Academy on Thursday. St. John XXIII has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fort Bend Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Olson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzie Hamilton, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
St. John XXIII now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Fort Bend Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John XXIII will challenge Kelly Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kelly Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Tuesday. As for Fort Bend Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against The Woodlands Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Woodlands Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
