Basketball Recap: Ramsey Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Ramsey Rams ended up a good deal behind the Wayne Valley Indians and lost 59-41. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wayne Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zachary Derstine out in front who went 6 for 7 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Derstine's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rubino, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Ramsey's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Wayne Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Ramsey will face off against Pascack Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pascack Hills will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ramsey surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wayne Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Passaic Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
