Soccer Game Preview: Hempstead vs. Muscatine

The Hempstead Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Muscatine Muskies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hempstead's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Dubuque Senior as they made off with a 4-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Hempstead in their matchups with Dubuque Senior: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Muscatine entered their tilt with Iowa City on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Little Hawks. That's two games straight that Muscatine have won by just one goal.

Hempstead now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Muscatine, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Hempstead came out on top in a nail-biter against Muscatine in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
