Basketball Game Preview: Ballard Bombers vs. Carlisle Wildcats

The Ballard Bombers will head out to face off against the Carlisle Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Ballard took a blow against North Polk, falling 69-35. While losing is never fun, the Bombers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Comets are ranked second).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carlisle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They breezed by Bondurant-Farrar to the tune of 59-23 on Friday. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Carlisle has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Ballard, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Ballard was taken down by Carlisle 64-29 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Ballard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
