Basketball Recap: Universal Stars vs. Illinois Lutheran Chargers
Universal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Illinois Lutheran Chargers, falling 72-51. The Stars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Illinois Lutheran got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dawveed Holland out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Holland also posted a 33% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Jace Danzy was another key player, going 9-for-17 on his way to 21 points.
Universal's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Illinois Lutheran, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-16.
