Soccer Recap: Sikeston Comes Up Short

Sikeston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sikeston of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Sikeston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Saxony Lutheran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sikeston will venture away from home to square off against Poplar Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Saxony Lutheran, they will square off against North County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Saxony Lutheran will be up against North County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.47 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
